Nepal Heritage Tour - 11 Days Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 02

Tour of Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Bhaktapur

We will engage in a half day Kathmandu Tour during which we will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will begin the tour from Pashupatinath Temple which is the holiest Hindu Temple in Nepal. It exists near the bank of Bagmati River. Bouddhanath Stupa will be our next stop. Bouddhanath is one of the largest stupa in Nepal. We will drive through Araniko Highway to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. We can see Victorian style courtyard, palaces, Golden Gate, 55-windowed palace and Nyatapol Temple.

Day 03

Tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Patan Durbar Square

in the morning after breakfast, we will head for Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kasthamandap Temple, Hanumandhoka Museum and Kumari Ghar are things to see in Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kasthamandap temple was built from the single tree. Kumari Ghar is the home of living goddess while Hanumandhoka Museum displays ancient pots, weapons and cloths used by Royals. We will visit Swayambhunath which is the oldest stupa in the world. The tour continues to Patan Durbar Square. Krishna Mandir, Squares, courtyards, artistic temples and market areas are things to see in Patan Durbar Square.

Day 04

Changunarayan Temple tour

in the morning, we will visit Changunarayan temple which is the UNESCO enlisted heritage. This temple is believed to have been founded more than 2500yrs. Changunarayan is one among four Narayan temples that is believed to safeguard Kathmandu Valley from demonic powers.

Day 05

Kathmandu to Lumbini

Covering 300km distance, we will reach Lumbini from Kathmandu in 8hrs. If time allows, we will take cable car ride from Kurintar to Mankamana Temple. It is dedicated to the shrine of wish fulfilling goddess- Manakamana. Journey continues with rivers, forest, hills and rice terrains at the background. We will check-in at hotel. Spend rest of your day on your own. Enjoy pleasant meal in the evening. Lumbini is in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. We will explore Sacred Lumbini Garden which mark the birth spot of Lord Buddha- the light of Asia. We will also visit Maya Devi Temple and Ashoka Pillar.

Day 06

Sightseeing in Lumbini

After having breakfast, we will head west and cover 27km distance to make it to Tilaurakot. It is the ancient palace of King Suddhodhana. It was in this place where Buddha spent his early childhood as a Shakya Prince. We will visit Kapilvastu Museum and watch ancient pottery, jewelry and ornaments. We will also visit stupas and monuments before returning to hotel

Day 07

Lumbini to Chitwan

Journey continues along Siddhartha Highway. We will cover 195km distance in 3.5hrs to arrive at Chitwan. Canoeing, jungle walk, jungle safari and elephant back riding are popular ways for Chitwan Exploration. We will visit Tharu native village in the evening and watch the cultural dance and learn about the culture.

Day 08

Chitwan Jungle Safari

We will wake up along with the soothing chirping of birds. We will get engaged in full day Chitwan Safari in dense sal forest during which we can have views of endangered one horned rhinoceros, ferocious Royal Bengal Tiger, rhesus monkeys, Gharial crocodile, musk deer, python and other wildlife. We will also visit elephant breeding center. We can have plenty of memorable photo shooting opportunities.

Day 009

Chitwan to Kathmandu

After taking light breakfast, we will drive for 5hrs to return to Kathmandu. We will celebrate the successful Nepal Heritage Tour and enjoy pleasant meal in evening.

Day 10

Free Day in Kathmandu

Spend the day on your own. You can either take rest on a hotel or explore around. Do the last minute preparation as you will be leaving for your next destination tomorrow.

Day 11

Departure!!!!

Thamel is more popular destination for last minute shopping. You can buy souvenir items like handicrafts and masks in Thamel. You will be picked up at the hotel and shifted to Kathmandu Airport from where you will head towards your next destination. We hope to see you soon.
