Annapurna Base Camp Trek - 13 Days Itinerary

Start from:Kathmandu
Ends at:Kathmandu
Day 01

Arrive in TIA, Kathmandu.

On the first day of your itinerary, you will arrive in Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport. At the airport, you will be welcomed by the staff from Well Adventure Tours, who will then transfer you to your hotel. At the hotel, we will discuss detailed itineraries so that we can modify or change the plans to suit your convenience. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02

Drive to Pokhara.

The city is renowned for its panoramic mountain views, with Annapurna and Machapuchare (the iconic fish-tail peak) to the north, Dhaulagiri to the west, and Lamjung Himal and Manaslu to the east.

Smaller and far less hectic than Kathmandu, it offers a relaxed atmosphere and serves as the ideal starting point for trekking to Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 03

Drive to Birethanti and Trek to Ulleri.

We depart Pokhara by private vehicle, arriving in Birethanti (1,039 m/3,409 ft) after a 2-4 hour drive. A couple of hours' hike from there brings us to Hile (1,495 m/4,905 ft), a large village with numerous shops and teahouses. After a rest, we trek to Ulleri, a large Magar village. This short and relatively easy day introduces climbers to trekking in Nepal.

Day 04

Trek to Ghorepani from Ulleri.

We continue our journey toward Ghorepani, a popular and scenic village situated at an altitude of 2,840 m (9,318 ft). From Ulleri, the trail ascends gently through beautiful forests of oak and rhododendron, leading us to Banthanti (2,250 m / 7,382 ft). We then trek onward to Nangethanti (2,460 m / 8,071 ft). After about an hour’s walk from there, we finally arrive at Ghorepani.

Day 05

Hike up to Poon Hill & back and then, Trek to Tadapani.

We begin our trek early in the morning with a one- to two-hour hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m/10,531 ft), a vantage point offering a stunning, unobstructed sunrise view over the Himalayas.

After spending one to two hours on Poon Hill, we return to Ghorepani for a hot breakfast. We then ascend along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests toward Deurali (2,960 m/9,711 ft), followed by a descent to Banthanti and a final turn-off to Tadapani.

Day 06

Trek to Sinuwa from Tadapani.

From Tadapani, the trail descends through rhododendron forests to Chuile, offering valley views. After the forest, a suspension bridge and short climb lead to Ghurjung village, a good spot for tea and local interaction. A pleasant walk from Ghurjung brings you to Chhomrong (2,140 m/7,021 ft). From there, a steep descent on stone steps reaches the Chhomrong Khola River, followed by a challenging ascent through dense forest to Sinuwa (2,340 m/7,677 ft).

Day 07

Trek to Deurali from Sinuwa.

Today's trail ascends to Upper Sinuwa before descending steeply to Bamboo, a scenic rest stop nestled in a bamboo-filled gorge.

After Bamboo, the path remains on the river's west side, winding through a beautiful waterfall. The vibrant flora and fresh mountain air invigorate us as we approach the Himalaya.

The trail then steadily climbs past Hinko Cave to our destination for the night, Deurali.

Day 08

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp from Deurali.

Today's trek leads to Annapurna Sanctuary via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m/12,139ft). Though climbing the iconic "Fishtail" peak of Machhapuchhre is prohibited, the base camp provides a stunning view. The trek culminates at Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,550ft), nestled within the breathtaking, amphitheater-like enclosure of soaring peaks that form the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Day 09

Trek to Bamboo from Annapurna Base Camp.

Today's trail descends 1,700 m (5,577 ft) to Bamboo (2,345 m/7,694 ft) on the Modi Khola riverbank. Enjoy views of the Annapurna range, including Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Singu Chuli, and Tharpu Chuli. Several teahouses/lodges offer accommodation in Bamboo.

Day 10

Trek to Jhinu from Bamboo.

The trail continues to Chomrong, passing an experimental sheep farm after Khuldighar and traversing rhododendron and bamboo fields. From Chomrong, the trail descends steeply to Jhinu, where natural hot springs offer a chance to bathe.

Day 11

Trek to Syauli Bazaar and Drive to Pokhara.

From Jhinu, a relaxing 3-4 hour walk along the right bank of the Modi Khola River leads to Syauli Bazaar, the trek's end. After a break, we drive to Pokhara. The initial 2-4 hour drive to Nayapul is bumpy due to the recently constructed, unpaved road. From Nayapul, the road improves, and it's a 1-2 hour drive on paved roads to Pokhara.
